Delicious with pork and chicken, this chutney is the ideal addition make-ahead addition to a weeknight meal. The chutney can be made up to a week ahead if stored in the fridge. In fact, the flavors will blend while it sits and taste even better the day after it is made. 

We like to cook down our chutney until deeply golden and almost smooth, but you may want a chunkier texture. The solution? Don't cook the chutney for quite as long. Simple as that.

Apple Chutney Recipe
Makes about 3 pints

4 apples diced
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1 cup onion minced
100g raisins
150g brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 black cardamom pod
1/2 teaspoon mace
1 2-3" cinnamon stick
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water

1. Mix all ingredients in a non-reactive 3-4 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat then reduce to a simmer and cook for 1 hour.

Once your order has shipped, tracking information will be provided.

We determine the most efficient shipping carrier for your order. We use UPS as primary shipper, but special arrangement can be made upon request. PLEASE NOTE that if you are receiving perishable goods, someone MUST be available to receive the package.

RETURN POLICY: We offer a full refund within 30 days for items that are damaged, faulty or unused. Proof of purchase must be provided when making a return. Please call customer service at 718.389.2982, in advance to obtain an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) within 30 days of purchase date.

All Class tickets are Will-Call, your name will be placed on a list at the store, and nothing will be mailed to you. If you are thinking of purchasing a class as a gift, we encourage you to consider purchasing a gift card, which can be used towards a class that fits their schedule. Please know that if you purchase a class as a gift for someone else, the cancellation policy below will apply.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICYIf a cancellation is made at least 3 days before the class, we will honor a store credit for the full value of the class, which can be redeemed at any time. If you cancel fewer than 3 days (72 hours) before the class, we will not offer a refund; however, class tickets are completely transferable and you are always welcome to send someone in your place.
