This recipe was part of class taught with Joe Zee, Creative Director for Yahoo Style, showcasing his love for the EZ-bake oven. A grownup version of the classic pigs in a blanket, this recipe is versatile; you can truly use any sausage. We chose chorizo because we love the flavor and it's already cooked which simplifies the process. If you choose a sausage that is uncooked, place it in the oven on 400 degrees F for 10 minutes and allow to cool before wrapping in the puff pastry. Be sure to check the internal temperature to ensure that the sausage is thoroughly cooked.

Puff Pastry Wrapped Chorizo
Serves 8

8 Brooklyn Kitchen Chorizo Sausages
2 sheets puff pastry
¼ cup dijon, plus more for dipping
1 egg, whisked with 1 tbsp water for egg wash
Whole grain and/or Honey Mustard, for dipping

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Lay puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut in half lengthwise; dock the pastry with a fork, making small holes to allow for steam to escape. Brush pastry with dijon. Lay chorizo at the edge of each sheet and roll tightly. Return to the baking tray, seam-side down and brush the pastry with egg wash for a glossy finish. Use a sharp knife to lightly score the pastry on a diagonal cut every ¾” to allow steam to escape and make cutting into rounds easier after cooking.
3. Cook until pastry is puffed and golden brown, and sausage is cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 15-20 minutes. Allow dish to cool and then slice at each score line. Plate and serve with various mustards for dipping.

RETURN POLICY: We offer a full refund within 30 days for items that are damaged, faulty or unused. Proof of purchase must be provided when making a return. Please call customer service at 718.389.2982, in advance to obtain an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) within 30 days of purchase date.

All Class tickets are Will-Call, your name will be placed on a list at the store, and nothing will be mailed to you. If you are thinking of purchasing a class as a gift, we encourage you to consider purchasing a gift card, which can be used towards a class that fits their schedule. Please know that if you purchase a class as a gift for someone else, the cancellation policy below will apply.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICYIf a cancellation is made at least 3 days before the class, we will honor a store credit for the full value of the class, which can be redeemed at any time. If you cancel fewer than 3 days (72 hours) before the class, we will not offer a refund; however, class tickets are completely transferable and you are always welcome to send someone in your place.
